The investment portfolio of PERSEO, Iberdrola's instrument for open innovation with start-ups, currently holds a portfolio of eight start-ups, selected from among the more than 300 international companies that we analyse each year in search of business opportunities, generating an ecosystem of almost 7,500 entrepreneurial companies. Since 2008, a total of 25 companies have benefitted from PERSEO's investment in areas such as artificial intelligence for the digitalisation and automation of processes, smart energy efficiency solutions, vehicle charging infrastructure and the development of solar projects in emerging economies.
More than fifteen years of work in search of the 'unicorns' that will revolutionise tomorrow's sector has allowed our project to consolidate itself as the benchmark corporate start-up programme in the energy sector. Milestones such as the IPO in 2021 of two of the start-ups invested by PERSEO: Wallbox and Stem.
